Meet the founder

Technology, marketing and revenue experience focused on one thing: building better businesses.

Hi, I’m Marc Ilgen. I founded Capture Build Grow to help service businesses get found, respond faster, follow up consistently, and turn more opportunities into customers.

For more than 40 years, my work has crossed technology, product development, marketing, lead generation and revenue growth. I have served as CTO, Chief Scientist, Principal Architect, VP of Marketing and VP of Agentic Revenue. I have also built startups, brought products to market, and built a lead generation agency. That range of experience shapes how I look at a business and where I look for opportunities to improve it.

Why Capture Build Grow exists

Most growth problems sit somewhere between marketing, sales and operations.

A service business may need more visibility in Google. Another may already have plenty of leads but take too long to respond. A third may answer every call yet lose revenue because estimates and older opportunities are never followed up consistently.

Those problems are connected. Marketing creates demand. Technology helps capture and route it. Sales processes determine what happens next. Follow-up and automation can keep good opportunities from disappearing after the first conversation.

Capture Build Grow looks across that entire path. The goal is to identify where the business is losing opportunities and put practical systems in place to improve the result.

The perspective behind CBG

Strong technology matters. So does understanding how a business actually makes money.

My technical background lets me go deep when the work calls for it. I have designed software platforms, AI and automation systems, mobile products, data-driven applications and complex integrations. I understand what the technology can do, what it cannot do, and how to build systems that are reliable enough to use in a real business.

My marketing and revenue experience changes the questions I ask. Who is the right customer? How are they finding you? What happens after they call or submit a form? How quickly do you respond? How many opportunities die because nobody follows up? Which parts of the process actually affect revenue?

The best solution usually comes from understanding both the business problem and the systems behind it.

How I work

01

Start with the business.

Before choosing software or automation, understand the customer, the lead flow and the economic value of fixing the problem.

02

Look at the full customer path.

Visibility, response, qualification, sales handoff and follow-up all affect whether an opportunity turns into revenue.

03

Use technology where it earns its keep.

Automation and AI can be powerful, but the right solution may also be better positioning, a clearer process or stronger follow-up.

04

Build for real-world use.

A system has to work for the people using it every day. Simplicity, reliability and clear ownership matter.

05

Stay close to the work.

Capture Build Grow is founder-led, so strategy and implementation do not disappear into layers of account management.

Technical depth

Software architecture, AI, automation, data, integrations and systems engineering give CBG the ability to solve problems that go beyond ordinary marketing execution.

Commercial perspective

Marketing leadership, revenue responsibility and hands-on lead generation keep the focus on customer acquisition, conversion, follow-up and measurable business value.
